Objectives
The iLiNS Project is comprised of a series of inter-related research activities, with the following six objectives:
- Develop low-cost, acceptable LNS formulations using locally-available ingredients
- Evaluate the efficacy of reduced-cost formulations of LNS for infants and young children
- Determine the optimal amount of zinc to include in LNS
- Evaluate the efficacy of LNS for pregnant and lactating women
- Investigate the economic dimensions of LNS use for prevention of malnutrition
- Coordinate efforts, build capacity and use results to inform nutrition policy and programs
